Psychotherapy

We offer psychotherapy for children, teens, adults, couples and families. The focus of psychotherapy is to improve mental health and treat psychological disorders. Examples of conditions that improve with psychotherapy are depression, anxiety, phobias, stress and even serious or longstanding conditions such as psychosis and bipolar disorders. Psychotherapy can also facilitate the resolution of interpersonal conflict, improve memory, reduce stress and help with issues related to everyday life.

Neuroscience is fundamentally important in our approach to the treatment of psychological disorders and we actively use a brain-based approach to guide our intervention methods. Our therapy style can be described as integrative and brings together key principles from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, REBT, Behavioural Therapy, Rogerian Client-Centered Therapy, Attachment Theory, Positive Psychology and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Retraining). We also go beyond the psychology clinic to work closely with significant persons in our clients’ lives such as parents, teachers, partners and family members to ensure adequate support for behavioural change in the environments where they live and function.
